Here are some highlights from my recent visit to Ad:Tech Delhi:
1. Affiliate Networks: Majority of the exhibitors were affiliate networks. Their basic model is to drive CPI, CPA campaigns by tapping into low cost media. Very little innovation here with a pure arbitrage play.
2. Although a lot of exhibitors were using buzz words like Native and RTB, most of them were nascent here.
3. However, I was pleasantly surprised that without doing much tech and relying on manual ops a lot of companies were able to sustain 15-20 member teams and also managed to invest in an event like Ad:tech indicating profitability.
4. Few companies that stood out:
a. SilverPush: They started as a DSP but are now trying to deploy tech in TV media buying which I thought was quite cool. You can read more about them here:
http://www.silverpush.co
b. Pokkt: They are in the incentivised/rewarded video ads space. The model will work in a large youth oriented market like India where users are not willing to pay but won't mind watching a video to get access to more content/higher levels in a video game etc.

5. There some regular players operating in RTB, retargeting, content marketing like Criteo, Taboola, Vizury etc.
6. A couple of offerings closer to Insighto, were:
a. http://zippyrevs.com/
- They are trying to extend the ads model to surveys. Publishers can
integrate with zippyrevs and then zippyrevs serves surveys to users of
the app/site.
b. Airloyal: They have an app called
"ladoo" that incentivises users with offers/recharge vouchers. They also
have a survey offering where they claim they can serve surveys to a
panel of 8-9 Million users and show real time results.
Here's a list of other exhibitors.
